Servant leadership (SL) is defined as true leadership that emerges from those who shares power, puts the needs of others first, and helps people perform and develop as much as possible. Are your behaviour skills SL proof?

SL seems to be a new buzz word/paradigm that advocates self- and social empowerment in the workspace. A new paradigm that advocates managers and individuals to involve their stakeholders and facilitate them in sharing their knowledge, skills and networks (social capital).

We – as ‘De Universiteit’ participants – by nature self-organize ourselves in a horizontal bottom-up way. A process where everyone gets its fair share of ownership and responsibilities. How does it work in the workspace? This evening we will experiment and discover whether you expose and impose a high or low status. What role does your status and ego play in the interaction with your co-workers, team-members, competitors and potential clients? Is your primary behaviour driven by your neutral or dominant ego?

Take home
★ broader behaviour repertoire, more freedom of choice.
★ more consciousness of your multiple, constructive and less constructive status and ego’s.
★ learnings what it entails to be a servant (self)leader.
